Prasar Bharti Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Shahsi Shekhar Vempati has said that journalism in regional languages and dialects have a great future ahead.
Speaking at a function in New Delhi organised by Pallibani Mission to facilitate the journalists belonging to Odisha, Mr Vempati said that hardcore journalism is being done in different regional languages in the remote areas of the country.
He said, it is the most challenging job as somebody is doing stories against sand mafia or against criminals, have to face several threats during their endeavour in digging out stories.
Mr Venpati said, digital media is the future of journalism as the internet penetration is rising.
Earlier, Petroleum Minister Dharmedra Pradhan inaugurated the function and awarded journalists from Odisha for their contribution in the field of journalism.
The journalists who were awarded include Prakash Patra, GK Mahaptra, Nabin Das, RM Mishra, Asit Mohanti , Debender Prusty, CK Nayak and Deepak Dash.
