JMC conducts anti-encroachment drive in Rehari, Sarwal areas

JAMMU: An anti-encroachment drive was today conducted by the Enforcement team of Jammu Municipal Corporation on the instructions of Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Commissioner, Avny Lavasa  and under the close supervision of Assistant Commissioner (Revenue),  Sudhir Bali.   The anti-encroachment drive was conducted in the areas of Rehari and Sarwal of Jammu City.

The drive was conducted on receiving a number of complaints from the residents of the twin localities about encroachment of the roads and lanes by the shopkeepers and residents causing hurdles in smooth flow of traffic and pedestrians.

The team removed encroachments from the roadside and lanes which includes illegal ramps, railings etc. A number of by-lanes were also freed from encroachments and opened for the general public.

Meanwhile, Jammu Municipal Corporation has appealed to all citizens  not to encroach upon main roads, footpaths, pavements as the same cause inconvenience to the general public and pedestrians and also create obstructions in the free movement of vehicular traffic.
