Jammu: Three philanthropic Organization heads from Jammu and Kashmir GOT selected to participate in the prestigious India International Science Festival 2022.
Three philanthropic organizations namely Public Peace and Development Foundation, Care for You and Asraria Institute and Technical Education from Jammu and Kashmir got selected to participate in National Social Organizations and Institutions Meet (NSOIM), one of the prominent events in India International Science Festival (IISF).
IISF is an initiative of Ministry of Science and Technology and Ministry of Earth Science of Government of India in association with Vijnana Bharati which is a science movement with Swadeshi spirit lead by eminent scientists of the country.
National Social Organizations and Institutions Meet (NSOIM), has been a national platform for bringing together all the stakeholders of societal development through Science and Technologies that help in solving societal issues.
The event gives an opportunity for the social and scientific community to exchange their ideas for livelihood-centric development, showcasing grassroots models having scope for social diffusion and commercialization from various scientific & research institutions that can lead to a self-reliant India.
This year, NSOIM is being organized by DST-SEED division and Vibha Vani (initiative of VIBHA) during 21st – 23rd January, 2023 as one of the 17 parallel events organized under IISF- 2022.Participants from Science & Technology (S&T) based Social Organizations, Societal Research & Academic institutions and Entrepreneurs engaged in societal development are invited to discuss scientific interventions and sustainable models for societal development and nation building.
Science & Technology is increasingly important in accelerating socio-economic growth of India by improving innovation capacity, strengthening social networks, updating knowledge & access to employment opportunities, reducing drudgery & transaction costs, increasing productivity & accessibility for better quality of life and livelihood of citizen. Focal theme of NSOIM-2022 is Livelihood Centric Technology Transfer for Reducing Multidimensional Poverty and Building Atmanirbhar Bharat.
The above mentioned Non-Governmental Organizations have already doing work on ground level for betterment of societies. Public Peace and Development Foundation, Care for You and Asraria Institute and Technical Education from Jammu and Kashmir are working on the field of social cause and promotion of scientific temper in the society.
Care for You is running an old age home in a remote district of J&K providing shelter to poor and destitute people.
The society is also running skill courses in difference sectors training youth for self reliance and sustainable.
Likewise Asraria and peace foundation are also working tirelessly for the upliftment of society and youth empowerment.
The trio have been selected on the basis of their ground performance.
