JKBOSE postpones Bi-Annual exams of Class 10, Class 12 in Kashmir

Srinagar, Feb 28: With the escalation of tension between India and Pakistan, the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has postponed Bi-Annual examinations for Class 10 and Class 12, commencing from next month, in Kashmir division.
“It is notified for information of all the concerned that the examination of Class 10th and Class 12th Bi-Annual Session 2018-19, which was scheduled to commence from March 2 and March 6, 2019, are postponed,” read a notification issued by JKBOSE Joint Secretary, Kashmir Division.
It further said that re-scheduled dates for the examinations shall be notified later.
However, with Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan announcing that the captured IAF pilot will be sent back to India, people in the valley are hopeful that the tension will de-escalate.
The tension between India and Pakistan escalated after IAF fighter jets went across to the Line of Control (LoC) early on Tuesday morning and destroyed a terror camp in Pakistan’s Balakot. Foreign secretary Vijay Gokhale in a press briefing in New Delhi on Tuesday said that a terror camp in Pakistan’s Balakot was destroyed, and a large number of terrorists were eliminated.
The Centre on Wednesday said that Pakistan attempt to target military installations on Indian side were foiled but in the process one MiG 21 was lost and the pilot is ‘missing in action’. “One fighter jet of Pakistan Air Force was also shot down in the aerial engagement by IAF’s Mig 21 Bison,” he added.
Pakistan claimed that the pilot was in their custody. A video of Wing Commander Abhinandan being questioned by Pakistan Army went viral on social media. Following this, the BJP-led government put out a strong statement and said it expects the “immediate and safe return” of the pilot and lodged a strong protest over the “unprovoked act of aggression by Pakistan”.
