Jammu: Despite initial vaccine hesitancy and hard work of health care workers, the Jammu and Kashmir is moving towards completing 100% vaccination of all above 45 years of age category as over 99 per cent of population in this age group.
The Covid-19 vaccination in Jammu and Kashmir is going on in full swing, Anantnag became the 12 district across the Union Territory in Jammu and Kashmir to achieve that feet.
Now Srinagar with 88.17 % and Kupwara with lowest in entire UT has only vaccinated 78.44% of its population in the category so far. Five districts in Jammu region have yet to achieve the feet, while Kishtwar 96.07 % and Kathua are near saturation with over 93.56 % coverage.
The overall Vaccine coverage of J&K in 45plus population is 99.95% which among best among many regions of the country. The data reveals that in Jammu region, Udhampur has covered 87.95% of its population in the category, Ramban 93.56%, Doda 88.13%, and Reasi has vaccinated 88.72% of its people.
Couple of days back, Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha while expressing satisfaction over the vaccination percentage directed the remaining districts which are lagging behind to adopt a more proactive approach and micro-level planning to meet the targets.
He said that with continuous augmentation of health infrastructure and decentralization of health system with accelerated vaccination drive, better management of patients and other crucial timely interventions, J&K Government has created a greater Covid clinical management capacity reforming healthcare delivery system.
Till date 54, 22,052 vaccine doses have been administered in the J&K across all the categorists.
The district which have completed the vaccination of all above 45 years of age include Anantnag, Kulgam, Shopian, Pulwama, Budgam, Baramulla, Bandipora, Ganderbal, Jammu, Rajouri, Poonch and Samba .
Notably, Jammu and Kashmir has already missed two deadlines to vaccinate all above 45 years of age.
