Jammu & Kashmir government is making all-out efforts to provide electricity to unconnected and uncovered households in the state. Under the Saubhagya scheme launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, State Power Development Department is according top priority to meet the targets set for undertaking electrification of households in border areas such as Kathua, Samba, Jammu, Rajouri & Poonch in Jammu region and Bandipora, Baramulla and Kupwara in Kashmir region and Kargil and Leh districts of Ladakh Division. Jammu & Kashmir government is making all-out efforts to provide electricity to unconnected and uncovered households in the state. Our correspondent reports, talking about the status and achievements regarding electrification of households including those in border areas of the state of J&K, State Commissioner Secretary Power Development Department Hirdesh Kumar told, It is hoped that availability of electric power to all as a clean energy would help in the improvement of ecology & environment, public health, education, connectivity and ease and comfort in the day to day life of common man.
