J&K Govt declares seven days mourning and holiday as a mark of respect to Atal Bihari Vajpayee


The Jammu and Kashmir Government has declared seven days mourning and holiday in all State Government offices and educational institutions today, as a mark of respect to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

An official order issued by the General Administration Department said State mourning is being observed for seven days from August 16 to 22.

The National and State flags will fly at half-mast during the State mourning on all buildings and places, where these are flown regularly and there will be no official entertainment during the period of mourning.
