Jet Airways’ pilots body urges PM, SBI to save airline

Cash-strapped airline Jet Airways pilots body National Aviator’s Guild (NAG) on Monday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to save 20,000 jobs, which are on stake with the airline’s possible shut down.The pilots body also appealed to the State Bank of India, who is leading the consortium of lenders to the airline, to infuse the capital of Rs 1500 crore in the carrier, which they have decided but could not release it till date.“We would like to appeal SBI to release Rs 1,500 crore funds for the airline to help it continue operations. We also appeal Prime Minister Narendra Modi to save 20,000 odd jobs at the airline,” NAG vice-president Adim Valiani told reporters in Mumbai.
