Rajouri: Hailing the scheme Ayushman Bharat PMJAY “SEHAT” launched by Prime Minister Modi, Block Development Council (BDC) Chairman, Kotranka, Javed Iqbal Choudhary on Saturday urged people to avail the benefits of cash less scheme.
The scheme will provide Rs. 5 lakh universal health coverage to J&K households for treatment at the government & private empanelled hospitals for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization.
The Prime Minister Modi virtually launched the scheme today and impressive events were organized across Jammu Division for the telecast.

The live streaming of the launch ceremony was organized in all districts where experts informed the participants about the benefits of the scheme. Golden Cards were also distributed among the beneficiaries.
Launching the historic event at Koteranka, BDC chairperson Javed Iqbal Choudhary urged people to take maximum benefit of the cashless and paperless SEHAT-scheme irrespective of Status, age and sex.
He also distributed golden cards to 20 beneficries on the spot.

The online launching of the scheme by Hon’ble PM Sh Narendar Modi was also live telecasted and witnessed by more than 1000 people Sitting in the programme.

The programme was organized by Block Medical Officer Kandi Dr.Iqbal Malik at Dakbanglow Koteranka.
The other dignitaries attended the function were BDC Chairman Budhal Smt Shamim Akhter, Tehsildar Kotranka, BDO Kotranka/ Budhal,Community Health officer Kandi and all sectoral Officers beside ASHA workers, AWWs, PR.
It is pertinent to mention here that prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Ayushman Bharat scheme via video-conferencing to extend health insurance coverage to all residents of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Prime Minister’s Office said the scheme will ensure universal health coverage, and focus on providing financial risk protection and ensuring quality and affordable essential health services to all individuals and communities.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the Union Territory’s Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, also spoke on the occasion.
The scheme will provide free-of-cost insurance cover to all residents of the UT of Jammu and Kashmir, the PMO said, adding that it will extend financial cover of up to Rs 5 lakh per family on a floater basis to all residents of the UT.
There is provision for operational extension of the ‘Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana’ (PM-JAY) to approximately 15 lakh additional families, the PMO statement said, adding that the scheme will operate on insurance mode in convergence with PM-JAY.
The benefits of the scheme will be portable across the country. The hospitals empanelled under the PM-JAY scheme shall provide services under this scheme as well, the PMO said.
