Jammu: Chairman Block Development Council Koteranka-Budhal (Old), Choudhary Javed Iqbal has requested Principal Secretary Power Development Department Rohit Kansal and Managing Director Jammu Power Development Corporation Prasanna Ramaswamy to order an immediate review of electricity bills in areas falling under his block.
He said that he comes across complaints in hundreds wherein people have been served with highly inflated bills, bills in the names of people who have no power connections, multiple bills in names of different members of families with only one connection.
“Our law-abiding people who have respect for services provided by the government are deeply worried about these inflated bills” said Choudhary Javed in a statement to the press. He said since the matter has been taken up a number of times at local offices with no tangible result, an intervention of the Principal Secretary PDD and MD JPDC is sought for immediate review of these inflated and unacceptable bills. Javed said once the bills are revised as per the actual supply, he will personally make sure that get the bills paid with 100% results.
