Jammu University declared as micro-containment zone after 43 tested COVID-19 positive

JAMMU, Apr 10: The authorities on Saturday declared Jammu university and area around it ad micro-containment zone after 43 persons were found Covid-19 positive in the varsity during a random sampling.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that at least 43 persons found Covid-19 positive and most of them are from girls hostel of the varsity.

They said that a team of health and medical education department carried out random sampling in Jammu University today during which 43 were found Covid-19 positive.

They said that District Magistrate Jammu, Anshul Garg issued an order declaring the area in and around Jammu University as micro-containment zone.

The order issued under section 144, stated that the area in and around Jammu University falling under Gandhi Nagar police station shall remain under restrictions of micro-containment with strict lockdown and no inward and outward movement of what so ever kind except for essential needs.

Tehsildar Bahu Fort has also been directed by DM Jammu to ensure enforcement of the order in letter and spirit—(KNO)
