Jammu city brought back on track as curfew relaxed for 7 hours

Jammu: Authorities Thursday ordered relaxation in curfew for a few hours in Jammu as the overall “law and order situation” improved.

However, officials said that the prohibitory orders under section 144CrPC will remain in force to maintain law and order. They said that all the wine shops and bars will remain closed. 

District Magistrate, Jammu, Ramesh Kumar Wednesday had said that all government and private schools will reopen on Thursday and the exams will be conducted as per schedule.  However, he said all colleges in the district will remain closed.

The curfew was imposed in Jammu after rightwing hindutva mobsters and arsonists burnt several vehicles belonging to Kashmiris and attacked their residential quarters.
