Senior National Conference leader and MLA Davendra Singh Rana Monday asked the PDP-BJP government to issue a statement whether any steps are being taken to de-escalate tensions along the LOC and International Border.
“We want government to make a statement on the floor of the house to explain what steps are being initiated to de-escalate tension on the LOC and IB,” Rana told reporters outside the Assembly.
“Government should tell how it is going to protect border residents from daily agony they are facing.”
The NC MLA according to KNS correspondent, said due to continuous firing and shelling, soldiers are getting martyred, and civilian population is facing the brunt of the escalating tension between Indo-Pak.
Rana said in absence of the Chief Minister, who is leader of the House and Deputy Chief Minister, the Speaker adjourned the House in realizing the gravity of the situation.
“BJP leaders who are always talking about need an explanation. Their rhetoric will not work,” he added.
