Jammu: While opposing the Jammu and Kashmir Government Eviction drive across the Union Territory, Peoples Conference (JKPC) President, Sajad Gani Lone termed it as an ‘insane experiment backed by ugly muscularity’.
Lone said that the idea of retrieving state land in rural settings is dangerous.
Taking on to his social media Twitter handle, PC President said that the administration cannot make people homeless, even when a sizable parentage of the population is involved, and asked when will these insane experiments backed by ugly muscularity end.
“Occupation of state Land in villages by inhabitants of a particular village is a generational practice and an irreversible reality. This practice is prevalent in the rest of the country. A sizable percentage of the population is involved. U can’t make them homeless,” Sajad Lone Twitted.

Lone further wrote on his social media handle, “This whole idea of retrieving state land in rural settings is dangerous. When will these insane experiments backed by ugly muscularity end.”
In a significant development, the Commissioner Secretary to the Government, Department of Revenue, has issued directions to all the Deputy Commissioners to ensure 100% removal of encroachments from State land including Roshni and Kahcharai by 31st January, 2023,
Pointing towards instructions issued from time to time, he directed all twenty DCs to draw up a daily anti-encroachment drive plan with the Divisional Commissioners asked to monitor the drive on a regular basis.

The DCs are required to furnish details about total encroached land on the day, encroachment removed day wise and balance so that the Government gets a clear picture about the progress made on each and every day till the January 31 deadline.
In another Tweet in the evening, Sajad Lone said, “Governments across the world spend billions eradicating the curse of homelessness. Can’t believe that a government is keen to create or invent homelessness. Don’t we have schemes PMAY et etc to build homes. Stop destroying, uprooting families or making them insecure.”
