ANANTNAG: The death toll among security personnel in the Anantnag encounter has risen to four as another injured soldier, who was wounded during the firefight, has passed away, according to officials’ reports today.
An official stated, “An additional army jawan has succumbed to his injuries, bringing the total number of security force casualties to four.”
The official further informed that the search operation within the cordoned-off area has now entered its third day. Previously, the deadly gunfight in a forest area in Kokernag had claimed the lives of two army officers and an officer from the Jammu and Kashmir police. (Agencies)
