Indian Navy recovers mortal remains of 37 workers from Barge P305; 188 survivors rescued, 38 still missing.

Indian navy has recovered the mortal remains of 37 persons so far from Barge P305. 188 survivors are rescued so far and 38 still are missing.

AIR correspondent reports, around 700 workers were working on a project of ONGC in Western Offshore fields in the Arabian Sea.

They were working on Barge Support Station-3, Gal Constructor, Bharat Bhushan and Papaa-305.

As per information given by ONGC, Due to the severe cyclonic storm anchors of these barges had given away and started drifting.

Indian Navy and Coast guard have already rescued 434 workers working on these barges and Navy’s ships are trying to bring these barges to Mumbai.

They are expected to reach today. But search and rescue operation for workers on Barge Pappa 305 is still going on.

Coast guard along with INS Kolkata, INS Kochi along with various navy ships and aircrafts are searching for missing crew members of Barge Pappa 305.
