India will become the top most energy user by 2030: Dharmendra Pradhan

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has said that India will become the top most energy user by 2030.  He was speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony of “common user petroleum facility” at Sadashivpur under Dhenkanal district of Odisha today.

While Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardip Singh Puri was present on the occasion virtually, Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Rameshwar Teli and other dignitaries were physically present during the occasion.

Union Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Minister Mr Pradhan said that the petroleum facility being built by the oil marketing major BPCL under the the Prime Minister’s “Purvodaya” vision, will cater to the rapid industrialisation of Dhenkanal district and also to the petroleum demands of districts like Angul, Deogarh, Keonjhar and western Odisha.

He said, the oil terminal to be constructed under the common user petroleum facility across 50 acres of land at a cost of 395 crore rupees is expected to generate two lakh man days of work during the phase of project execution.

The 42 thousand kiloliters capacity oil terminal, to be used by the 3 marketing companies like IOCL, BPCL and HPCL will store petrol and diesel besides ethanol and biodiesel for local supply. Stating that the Government of India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been investing heavily to promote clean energy in the country, the Union Minister said, the country’s first second generation bio refinery plant, coming up in the Bargarh district of Odisha, is slated to be completed by March 2023 to produce about 200 kiloliters of ethanol daily from about 400 metric tons of bio material.
