New Delhi: India reported 41,831 new Covid-19 cases and 541 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to data from the Union Health Ministry.
The daily case count has remained over 40,000 for the fifth straight day. Kerala has reported 20,624 cases.
Active cases have also increased for the fifth day. As on Saturday, there were 4,10,952 active cases, accounting for 1.30 per cent of the total infections. 1.65 lakh of these are in Kerala.
With this, the total number of coronavirus cases in the country has reached 3,16,55,824, and the overall death toll stands at 4,24,351. Out of the 541 deaths, 231 fatalities in the last 24 hours were reported from Maharashtra and 80 from Kerala. At least 3,08,20,521 people have recovered from the infection.
The daily positivity rate was recorded at 2.34 per cent while the weekly positivity rate stands at 2.42 per cent, as per health ministry data.
The health ministry said as many as 47,02,98,596 vaccine doses have been administered in the country till date, with 60,15,842 doses being given in the last 24 hours.
