Union Civil Aviation Minister Suresh Prabhu has said India is the fastest growing aviation market in the world. Terming aviation sector as immense possibility sector, he said that investment of 10 lakh crore rupees will be made to expand air service in the country. Mr Prabhu also said that aviation industry has gained 20 percent profit in past one year. After launching a daily flight between Kanpur and Delhi under the UDAN scheme, the Minister said a direct flight would soon commence from Gorakhpur to Nepal. He said more than 50 cities across the country have been brought under the ambit of the aviation circuit in order to promote regional flying.
Mr Prabhu said government will establish air cargo hub across the country in near future which will benefit the farmers most. He said air cargo will help farmers to transport their crops quickly from one place to another and save damages.
