India COVID-19: 42,909 new infections, active caseload at 3,76,324; 63.43 crore vaccine doses administered

India reported 42,909 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, pushing the overall tally to 3,27,37,939, the Union ministry of health and family welfare reported on Monday. The active cases in the country increased by 7,766 coronavirus infections, taking the caseload to 3,76,324.

The data of MoHFW updated at 8 am today showed that 34,763 recoveries were registered in the last 24 hours, pushing the total number of recoveries to 3,19,23,405. The COVID recovery rate currently stands at 97.51 per cent.

The fatality count increased to 4,38,210 as 380 coronavirus patients lost their lives since Sunday. The case fatality rate stands at 1.34 per cent, the MoHFW data stated.

India’s weekly positivity rate was recorded at 2.41 per cent, less than 3 per cent for the last 65 days.

The daily positivity rate was registered at 3.02 per cent.

63.43 crore COVID vaccine doses have been administered so far under the nationwide vaccination drive, the health ministry informed.
