Incoming foreign aid to combat COVID is being promptly dispatched to States and UTs: Govt

Government on Wednesday said that the incoming foreign aid to combat COVID-19 is being promptly dispatched to the States and Union Territories. Union Health Ministry said, the Centre has been receiving international cooperation of COVID-19 relief medical supplies and equipment since 27th of last month from different countries and organisations.

Cumulatively, 17,831 Oxygen Concentrators, 18 thousand 111 Oxygen Cylinders, 19 Oxygen Generation Plants, more than 13,000 ventilators, around 7 lakh Remdesivir vials and 12 lakh Favipiravir tablets delivered through road and air. The Ministry said, the major consignments received in the last two days are Germany, Kuwait, UK, South Africa, Spain and Madrid. A dedicated Coordination Cell has been created in the Union Health Ministry to coordinate the receipt and allocation of foreign COVID relief material.
