President Ram Nath Kovind this year conferred Padma awards on 112 prominent personalities during civil investiture ceremonies, held at Rashtrapati Bhawan, New Delhi.

  1. President Kovind presents Padma Bhushan to Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa for Public Affairs. He is a veteran political leader who has served the people of Punjab and the nation in many capacities. He is currently a MP (Rajya Sabha) from Punjab.

 

2. President Kovind presents Padma Bhushan to John T Chambers for Trade & Industry (Technology). Founder of JC2 Ventures, Chambers has served as CEO of Cisco and as Chairman of the US-India Strategic Partnership forum.

 

3. President Kovind presents Padma Bhushan to Viswanathan Mohanlal for Art. A renowned film actor from Kerala, Mohanlal has acted in about 350 films, in a career spanning 40 years.

 

4. President Kovind presents Padma Bhushan to Karia Munda for Public Affairs. A veteran politician and the former Deputy Speaker of the Lok Sabha, he is popular public figure in Jharkhand.

5. President Kovind presents Padma Bhushan to Kuldip Nayar (Posthumous) for Literature & Education (Journalism). He was a long-time editor, popular columnist and civil liberties activist.

 

6. President Kovind presents Padma Bhushan to Hukumdev Narayan Yadav for Public Affairs. A popular public figure and a renowned Parliamentarian, he is currently representing Madhubani constituency of Bihar.

 

7. President Kovind presents Padma Shri to Sharath Kamal Achanta for Sports. A renowned name in table tennis, he has won over 60 international medals in the past 16 years.
