In a first, rifle snatching incident occur at Kupwara

For the first time, the unknown persons snatched a service rifle from a cop in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, officials said.

Officials said that the unknown persons overpowered a cop and decamped with his service rifle in Maidanpora village of Sogam in Lolab area of Kupwara district.

The officials said that the search operation has been launched to a manhunt to nab them.

Meanwhile, Hizb operational spokesman, Burhan-ud-din in a tele-statement issued to The Dispatch claimed the responsibility of rifle snatching incident, saying that their militants have snatched the rifle from a cop in Maidanpora area.

He said that the Hizb district commander Kupwara has congratulated the militants for successfully snatching the rifle.

The Hizb operational spokesman further said that the militants will be given cash reward.
