I&B Minister Prakash Javadekar holds meeting with representatives of OTT industry

Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar today held a meeting with representatives of Over the Top, OTT industry and explained to them the provisions of the new OTT rules. Mr. Javadekar said that all representatives from OTT industry welcomed the fresh guidelines issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting adding they would partner together towards making the experience on the OTT platforms better for the audiences.
 
The Ministry has issued the guidelines last week to monitor content on social media and OTT platforms under which they would be required to remove any content flagged by authorities within 36 hours and further set up a grievance redressal mechanism.
