SRINAGAR: Security Forces Friday said to have recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition in Machil sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

On specific BSF input, a Joint Operation was launched by troops of BSF, Indian Army and J &K Police along the Line of Control, Sector Kupwara, Kashmir on 18th August 2023, during which the following war like stores were recovered, BSF said in a statement.

AK Series Rifles – 05, AK Mag – 08, 9mm Pistols – 07, 9mm Pistol Mag – 15, Hand Grenades – 04, 7.62 mm AK Rounds – 415, 7.62 mm AP Rounds – 115, 9 mm Rounds – 244

IG BSF Kashmir Ashok Yadav said that the successful operation is the result of strong operational synergy between BSF and Army on the LoC.

He added that the successful operation has once again thwarted attempts by various terrorist organizations to disrupt peace and tranquility in the Kashmir valley.
