HP govt decides to provide free COVID treatment to beneficiaries of Himcare and PM-JAY scheme in registered private hospitals

The Himachal Pradesh  Government has decided to provide free COVID treatment to the beneficiaries of Himcare and Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana in registered private hospitals of the state.

By this decision, around 9 lakh 29 thousand beneficiaries covered under Him care and Ayushman Bharat health scheme would now get free treatment of COVID 19 in private hospitals which are registered as a dedicated COVID hospital by the state government. The state government has also decided to prioritize certain sections of the society for vaccination keeping in view the nature of their work. It includes drivers and conductors of private and HRTC buses,  fuel pump operators, PDS depot holders, teachers on COVID duty, banks and finances service staff ,food and civil supplies staff,  chemists and lok mitra kendras .

Meanwhile, the process of vaccination for the age group of 18 to 44 will start in the state from the 17th of this month. For this the state government  has received 1.07620  doses of COVID vaccine ,yesterday evening . It was also informed that registration on the Cowin app is mandatory for vaccination. Without registration and scheduled appointment, no person of this category shall be entertained.
