Heavy rain continues to batter Mumbai and its neighboring areas like Thane, Kalyan, Dombivli and Palghar. The city and its suburbs have been receiving heavy rain since the last three days. Due to water accumulation on Railway tracks and adjoining areas at Nallasopara, train movement between Vasai Road and Virar has been suspended.
Western Railway officials said, efforts are being made to clear the tracks by pumping machines to flush out the water.Amid torrential rain, the Tulsi lake, which supplies water to the people of the city, started overflowing yesterday.
Mumbai’s Dabbawalas, the tiffin careers of the city, have suspended their work today in entire city. The Met department has predicted heavy to very heavy rain till Thursday.
