Gurudwara Prabandhak Board elections should be conducted at an earliest: Varinder Singh

Jammu: Chairman of National Sikh Front Varinder Jeet Singh has demanded from L.G Manoj Sinha that elections to Gurudwara Prabandhak Board should be held at an earliest.

He said that the government has already conducted elections to Gurudwara Prabandhak committees according to Gurdwara Act 1971 and according to the Gurdwara Act the election of Members of board and chairman should be conducted within 90 days which has not happened and nothing has been done in this regard by the government.

Varinder Jeet Singh said that they demanded long time ago that elections to Gurudwara Prabandhak committees and Board should be conducted according to new Act but it was not amended and elections were done according to old act but now the process of election of Members of Board and chairman is not being completed and nothing is being done in this regard.

He has appealed to L.G and Chief Secretary that the elections to Gurudwara Prabandhak Board and of Chairman should be announced otherwise we will have to go to court for our demand.

He said that Sikhs of Jammu and Kashmir have never been given anything so easily and without any protest so we will again fight for it and get what we demand.
