Gujarat CM announces Rs. 4 lakh cash compensation to kin of those who lost their lives in Tauktae

Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has announced Rs. 4 lakh cash compensation to kin of those who lost their lives in Cyclonic storm Tauktae.

He also announced Rs. 50 thousand to the injured persons due to the cyclonic storm.

This was announced after the state level core committee meeting held in Gandhinagar last evening.

AIR correspondent reports, the cash assistance announced by the Gujarat government will be in addition to Rs. 2 lakh compensation announced by the Prime Minister on Wednesday.

Thus, the kin of each deceased will get a total 6 lakh rupees while the injured will get Rs. 1 lakh.

State government has also announced cash doles for the affected people.

Rs. 100 per adult and Rs.60 per child per day cash doles will be paid to all evacuated during the cyclonic storm.

Meanwhile, the relief and restoration work are in full swing following improvement in weather.

Traffic on 1100 roads has been restored out of 1200 roads closed due to cyclonic storm.

Power supply in most of the Covid hospitals in the affected areas has been restored.

The vaccination drive stopped due to the Cyclonic storm also restarts from today.
