Govt yet to share evaluation report on MDM scheme with MHRD

Srinagar, Feb 04: Even after holding the Annual Work Plan and Budget (AWB) plan meeting of 2020-21, authorities in Jammu and Kashmir are yet to share the evaluation study report of Mid Day Meals (MDM) scheme with Government of India (GoI).

The officials representing the MDM scheme said that the evaluation study of the scheme was still under process.

The news agency— has learnt, the MDM authorities have told Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) that “the evaluation study of the MDM scheme at the state level is under process through Director General Evaluation and Statistics of the State.”

“The findings of the evaluation study will be shared with the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and GoI as and when received,” the minutes of the meeting read.

This information was revealed by the MHRD in the Annual Work Plan and Budget (AWPB) 2020-21.

In the meeting it was also said that during the year 2019-20, against the Project Approval Board (PAB), of 22,227 number of schools with the enrollment of 92,403,6 number of children, Jammu and Kashmir has covered only 22,227 number of schools that includes 12,908 primary schools and 9319 upper primary schools with the coverage 64,746,0 number of children.

“For the current Financial Year 2020-21, the State has proposed 70,176,1 number of children that includes 46,483,2 from PS and 236,92,9 of UPS,” it reads.
