Government has taken note of a media report about predatory journals that claim to be international and publish papers for a listed charge or fee.
Replying to supplementaries in the Lok Sabha on Monday, HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar said, the government will rectify the things related to such journals.
He said, the Ministry will review the list of journals in the next three months.
Recently, an English daily had published reports that India has the biggest markets for a business in which over 300 publishers manage what are called predatory journals.
The Minister said, the Standing Committee of UGC on notification of journals has been constituted which, after due verification, has removed 4,102 substandard journals.
