Jammu: Deputy Commissioner, Avny Lavasa on Thursday inaugurated e-Library in Government Higher Secondary School Palanwala. The e-Library will be 24×7 open for the students of the area.
The DC visited the Government Higher Secondary School during her extensive tour of Block Samwan of Tehsil Khour where she also listened to public grievances
Govt Hr Sec School Palanwala was established in 1945 and it is managed by the Department of Education, J&K. This Co-educational institute is located in Khour tehsil of Jammu district. English is the medium of instruction here and this government school is approachable by all weather roads. Currently, the school has a library and has 819 books in its library.
During the tour, DDC members, delegations besides scores of individuals apprised the DC about the problems being faced by them in day to day life.
The PRI members one by one highlighted the issues regarding their respective Panchayats which were mainly related to irregular supply of water and electricity, Revenue, compensation, ration card, IAY, Road connectivity, drinking water availability, instalation of hand pumps, health centres etc.
The DC passed on the spot directions to the concerned officers for early redressal of their genuine grievances.
Lavasa impressed upon the officers to work with zeal to achieve the targets ensuring the delivery of the benefits to the rural masses. She also flagged off an auto for garbage collection at village Panjtoot.
