SRINAGAR: The Government Medical College of Srinagar on Saturday refutes the LPG cylinder blast being the reason for the fire incident at Bone and Joint Hospital (B&J) Barzulla Srinagar on Friday evening.
Principal Government Medical College of Srinagar in her statement about the fire incident at GMC Srinagar associated Bone and Joint Hospital Barzulla refutes LPG cylinders blasts in the hospital fire incident as being attributed to a statement by a senior health official.
The investigations in the cause of the fire are being ascertained while restoring the immediate patient care, especially of shifted patients to various hospitals and resumption of OPD and Emergency Services at the unaffected building of Bone and Joint Hospital Barzulla is the top priority this time, she said.
It is pertinent to mention here that a massive fire damaged the Bone and Joint hospital here on Friday night. However, there was no casualty reported. Patients were evacuated amid chaos and panic following fire from the operation theatre.
Reports said that over 200 patients were evacuated and were shifted to other hospitals in Srinagar city. Following the fire incident, several senior police and government officials ascertained the situation. Later in the night, Health & Medical Education Department in a tweet said it was deeply concerned and monitoring the aftermath of the devastating fire incident at B&J Hospital Srinagar. “Reasons are being ascertained why the incident happened despite regular fire safety audits and adequate measures,”.
