‘Give Wings to Your Dreams’: IAF to hold air show over Srinagar’s Dal Lake on September 26

The Indian Air Force will on September 26 conduct an air show over the famous Dal Lake in a bid to motivate the youth of Jammu and Kashmir to join the air force.

Officials said 3,000 students and schoolchildren are expected to attend the show.

According to Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Pandurang K Pole, “The main aim of the air show is to motivate the youth of the Valley to join the Indian Air Force and to promote tourism in the region.”

Pole presided over a meeting of principals of various educational institutions on Tuesday regarding students’ participation in the air show conducted by the Indian Air Force as part of the Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav celebrations. ‘Give Wings to Your Dreams’ is the theme of the show.

The programme will give more than 3,000 college and school students a chance to see impressive manoeuvres performed by the IAF aircraft that will motivate them to contemplate a career in the IAF and the aviation industry, an official spokesperson said.

“The show will also develop a passion among the students to give wings to their dreams. Along with the students, 700 teachers will also be present at the venue,” he said.

According to the spokesperson, Pole has asked educational institutions to ensure National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets attend the event.

There will be stalls set up at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Center to inform students about the IAF’s achievements, employment opportunities, recruitment rules, and eligibility criteria.
