A day after the police said that Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik are now free, the Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani on Friday decided to offer mandatory Friday congregational prayers at Hyderpora Jamia Masjid.
Hurriyat Conference chief Spokesperson G A Gulzar told KNS that Geelani has decided to offer Friday prayers at Hyderpora Jamia Masjid today. “Geelani will also address the gathering at Jamia Masjid”, he informed.
However, he said that the restrictions around Geelani’s residence continued as the authorities continue to deploy forces around his Hyderpora residence.
Pertinently, Geelani continued to remain under house detention at his residence cum office at Hyderpora from last eight years. He was earlier disallowed to offer Friday prayers at the Masjid.
