Gadkari to lay foundation stone of 25 national highway projects of Rs 11,721 Crore tomorrow

The 25 national highway projects in J&K of total length of 259 kilometers with an estimated cost Rs 11,721 crore will be launched by Gadkari from Sport Stadium, Doda on Wednesday in presence of MoS PMO Dr Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways and Civil Aviation, General (Retired) VK. Singh, LG Manoj Sinha and MP Jugal Kishore Sharma.

 

Jammu: In a massive push to infrastructure in the Jammu region, union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari with be laying of e-foundation stone for 25 National Highway Projects during his two day visit to union territory from November 24.

Major projects will be taken up for massive upgradation of road infrastructure in the Doda-Kishtwar region, projects for rectification of black spots from the Jammu-Pathankot national highway and building key tunnels on the Akhnoor-Poonch sections of the NH-144A-which will cut the travel time to border Rajouri and Poonch districts.

The 25 national highway projects in J&K of total length of 259 kilometers with an estimated cost Rs 11,721 crore will be launched by Gadkari from Sport Stadium, Doda on Wednesday in presence of MoS PMO Dr Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways and Civil Aviation, General (Retired) VK. Singh, LG Manoj Sinha and MP Jugal Kishore Sharma.

The projects of great importance while improving road connectivity, will also connect certain historically and culturally important destinations of the UT with the National Highways for enhancing the tourist potential.

The mega projects being undertaken by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways to launched include- Up-gradation on Goha-Khellani section and a LR to Goha village – from 12.850 km to 20.300 km on NH-244 (Pkg-I) with total length of  9.46 KM, while the cost of project is 228.39 Cr. Up-gradation on Goha-Khellani Section – 20.300 km to 29.030 km on NH-2. (Package-II) with total length of 8.73 KM while the project cost is Rs 210.79 Cr.  Construction of Uni-Directional Khellani tunnel of length 1.574 Km with approach Road on NH-2, the total Length is 3.993 KM and Project cost is 749.61 Cr.  Construction of bi-directional tunnel at km 83rd of length 495 m with AR 8, MJB on NH-2 with total length of 1.269 KM and costing 91.29 Cr.

Construction and Up-gradation on Khellani- Kishtwar – Chattroo section of NH-244 – Km 31.449 to Km 51.700 (Pkg-I) with total length of 20.251 KM and project cost will be Rs 486.45 Cr. Construction/Up-gradation on Khellani – Kishtwar – Chattroo section of NH-244 – Km 51.700 to Km 66.535 (Pkg-II), the  total length of 14.84 KM, Rs 512.43 Cr will be project cost.  Construction/Up-gradation on Khellani- Kishtwar – Chattroo section of NH-2.- Km 67.805 to Km 80.675 (Pkg-III) with total length of 12.871 KM, and Rs 398.51 Cr will be project. Construction of Kishtwar bypass on Khellani – Kishtwar – Chattroo section and a LR to Kishtwar – Km 80.675 to Km 95.550 on NH-2. (Pkg -IV) with 14.88 KM in total length with Rs 859.67 Cr total project cost.  Construction/Up-gradation on Khellani – Kishtwar – Chattroo section on NH-244 – Km 95.55 to Km 111.06 (Pkg-V) with 15.52 KM total length and Rs 497.09 Cr total cost.

Also strategic tunnels will constructed on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway, including construction of four lane twin tube tunnel from Manog to Digdol on NH-44 (Pkg-I) with total length of 4.38 KM, costing Rs 1912.17 Cr.  Construction of four lane twin tube tunnel from Digdol to Khuni Nallah on NH-44 (Pkg-II) with total length of 3.2 KM with Rs 1401.87 Cr in construction cost.  Construction of Viaduct from Mompassi to Sherbibi on Ramban to Banihal section on NH-44 with total length of 6.02 KM, costing Rs 614 Cr as project cost. Construction of Viaduct and tunnel between Nashri to Ramban in Udhampur-Ram ban Section on NH-44 with total length of 2.2 KM, cost of project is Rs 442.14 Cr.

Black spots on the Jammu-Pathankot national highway which have often resulted in road mishaps will also be inaugurated on Wednesday.

Rectification a black spot at Samba (Flyover) on NH-44 with total length of 1.85 KM, cost of project is Rs 97.48 Cr. Rectification a black spot at Mansar morh (vehicular underpass) on NH-44 with total length of 0.91 KM, cost of project Rs 22.88 Cr. Rectification of two black spots at Maheshwar (Service Road) and Chichi Mata (LVUP) on NH-44 with total length 1.74 KM, cost of Project is Rs 18 Cr. Rectification of two black spots at Lakhanpur Golden Gate (Service Road) and Logate Morh (Bridge) on NH-44 with total length of 3 KM, cost of project Rs 41.3 Cr.  Rectification of Black Spot at Pali Morh (LVUP) on NH-44 total length 1.06 KM, cost of project Rs 26.04 Cr.

Also the foundation stone of projects on the Akhnoor-Poonch section of NH-144A will be inaugurated on Wednesday. The projects include rehabilitation and up-gradation on Akhnoor-Poonch Road of NH-144A shall including Kandi Tunnel –from 30 to Krn 46.450 (Pkg-I) Total Length: 16.45 KM, Cost of Project is Rs 272.49 Cr.  Rehabilitation and up-gradation on Akhnoor- Poonch Road of NH-144A including Sungal Tunnel – from 46.450 km to 55.800 km (Pkg-II) with total length of 9.35 KM and cost of Project is 796.97 Cr. Rehabilitation and up-gradation on Akhnoor-Poonch Road of NH-144A from 55.800 km to 75.347 km  (Pkg-III) with total length of 18.55 KM, with cost of Project is Rs 152.93 Cr. Rehabilitation and up-gradation on Akhnoor-Poonch Road of NH-144A from 74.350 km to 90.150 km (Pkg.) with total length of 15.8 KM, Cost of Project is Rs 114.75 cr.  Rehabilitation and  up-gradation on Akhnoor- Poonch Road of NH-144A including Naushera Tunnel from 90.150 km to 116.980 km (Pkg-V) with total length of26.83 KM, Cost of Project is Rs 642.24 Cr.  Rehabilitation & up-gradation on Akhnoor- Poonch Road of NH-144A  from 116.980 km to 146.700 km (Pkg-VI) with total length of 29.72 KM, Cost of Project will be Rs 395.25 Cr. Rehabilitation and up-gradation on Akhnoor- Poonch Road of NH-144A including Bhimber Gali tunnel  fro, 146.700 km to 162.800 km (Pkg-VII) with total length of 16.1 KM, Cost of Project will ne Rs 734 Cr.
