Four-member committee for commemoration of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji’s birthday

JAMMU: The administration has constituted a four-member committee regarding the issue of commemoration of the birthday of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji and its observance in the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

The four-member committee includes Principal Secretary to the Government General Administration Department Chairman, Administrative Secretary Social Welfare Department Member, Administrative Secretary Culture Department Member and Divisional Commissioner Jammu Member.

“Sanction is hereby accorded to the constitution of a Committee regarding the issue of Commemoration of Birthday of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji and its observance, in general,/under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 in the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir”, reads the order issued by the General Administration Department.  The above Committee may co-opt any other member(s) as and when required, the order reads.

It is pertinent to mention here that over the years, the locals in Jammu have been demanding a holiday on 23rd September (Maharaja’s Birth Anniversary).
