JAMMU: The northern army commander Lieutenant General Upendera Divwedi Wednesday said that the army has eliminated the foreign terrorists along the LoC in Poonch and Rajouri, which are witnessing a spurt in terrorism for past few months.

Talking to reporters in Jammu, the army commander said that the army has killed foreign terrorists along the LoC in Poonch and Rajouri only while foiling infiltration bids.

Lt General Divwedi said that in the recent operation where one soldier has also been killed besides the army’s dog, Kent, an effective operation was launched. “Kent saved his handlers during the anti-militancy operation at Rajouri,” he said.

The army officers said that in 2022, 1.88 Crore tourists arrived in J&K and this year, the administration expects 2.25 crore tourist arrivals but Pakistan tries to send infiltrators to disrupt the tourism boom. “We are trying all such attempts,” he said.
