Food Safety DFCO Doda monitors Beverages and other consumable

JAMMU:

Keeping in view the summer season and associated concerns & voicing the harmful effects of Fruit juices & carbonated waters which are sold in the markets in utter violations to the FSSA Act & the provisions made thereunder, different teams comprising Enforcement officers of Food Safety DFCO Doda in compliance to the directions of Commissioner FDA j&k carried market checking and monitoring of essential items of human consumption on Saturday.
During the inspections, teams lifted the samples of Beverages & carbonated drinks to ensure that all the beverages, carbonated & fizzy drinks have labels detailing their ingredients including prescribed levels of additives etc in first phase in entire District Doda. The teams lifted 04 samples -two packed cane  samples of beverages  of brand  Delmonte of available flavors of pineapple & green apple, one sample of packed  Slice Pepsico & one packed sample of Milk. The samples were sent to designated laboratories for Analysis.
Emphasizing over the compliances, Taraq Ahmad Butt Assistant Commissioner Food Safety DFCO Doda directed the team of Enforcement Officers including Amin khan  and Balbir Singh to mobilise Business Operators to get basic Registration/License of FSSA which is mandatory for anyone who intends to do Food business.
The team imparted awareness to the FBO’S that while purchasing & taking over the consignments, they need to be careful about label & packing regulations like proper implemention of the Batch Number, DOP, Best Before, FSSAI License number, Brand name and to keep the products away from direct Sunlight &  refrigerate them for safety of the quality.
Assistant Commissioner said that in order to gauge the violations, the team would be continuing the drive in the interest of Consumers & public in general.
“The team intends to navigate the factors of violations and would book the offenders under the specific Act,” Taraq Butt informed adding,
 “The Enforcement team has kick started the campaign with a mission to intensify the market checking across District Doda for ensuring safe ,fresh and healthy food to the Consumers.”
