The Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs, Nirmala Sitaraman is on a two day visit to Karnataka from today. The Finance Minister will be visiting the 100 bed Covid Care facility developed under MPLADS funds. She will also visit the vaccination centres. Tomorrow the Union minister will visit Helix Biotechnology Park in the city.
Meanwhile Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa inaugurated a 70 acre botanical garden in Bengaluru yesterday. Apart from Cubbon Park and Lalbagh, the garden in Kannamangala will enhance the beauty of Bengaluru also known as Garden city.
The Botanical garden is home to 2120 plant species upholding biodiversity. It has medicinal and ornamental plants. It has 2000 coconut trees of various species from various countries. It has a beautiful lake with landscaped gardens. Five mini ponds are created to harvest rainwater.
