Fishing activities completely banned in Kerala coast from today midnight

Fishing activities are completely banned in Kerala coast from today midnight as the Met Department predicts heavy rain and strong winds in the State from tomorrow, on account of low pressure formed in Bay of Bengal .

Sea is expected to be rough with high waves, fishermen who are out in the sea, are directed to reach the nearest coast at the earliest. The Kerala State Disaster Management Authority is presently taking stock of the situation in a high level meeting headed by the Chief Secretary.

The departments of Revenue and Local Self-Government have been directed to make arrangements to face any adverse situation. Southern regions mainly the coastal and low lying regions of Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Idukki and Pathanamthitta districts are in high .
