Srinagar|Feb 5: After his controversial ‘cabbage comment’ last year senior IPS officer Basant Rath has again taken a jab at Srinagar Muncipal Corporation (SMC) Mayor. Though without naming the mayor in his tweet, Rath implicitly referred to Junaid Azim Mattu as Anarkali.

Refreshing his old tiff with the Mayor who was also popularized by Rath’s old tweet as ‘Cabbage Mayor’, in his new tweet the officer  wrote, “Anarkali airport chali. With a rose.”

It was on the event of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Srinagar that Mayor Mattu was seen welcoming the Prime Minister on airport with a rose.

Never shying from expressing his political beliefs, the adored by Kashmiris IPS officer is famous in Kashmir for his sarcasm as well.

Pertinent to mention that days after the ‘cabbage tweet’, Basant Rath was unceremoniously removed as IGP traffic and was attached in the office of commandant General Home Guards/Civil Defence/SDRF.
