JAMMU: To emphasiSe over the availability of Safe ,Pure, quality & wholesome essential commodities including beverages & daily consumable items, a team of Food Safety DFCO Doda in collaboration with the Enforcement Officers of MC Thathri led by Rajni Devi Food Safety Officer in compliance to the directions of Commissioner FDA j&k carried out a thorough inspection of the market at Thathri of district Doda on Thursday.
During inspection, the concerned Officer lifted 07 samples of different categories of essential commodities like Fizz,Minute maid ,Fanta along with other brands and sent the same for Analysis under the provisions of FSSA.
While implementing the Act, strict instructions were issued to the Bussiness Operators & in due course of vigorous inspections, more than 50 kg rotten Vegetables ,decomposed & uncovered cut fruits and perishable items were destroyed on the spot.
Upon such action, one time exemption was given to the shopkeepers in the meantime warning them that in future if any Violator is caught repeating the illegal practice, strict action under the specified act would be taken by booking them particularly vide provisions of Hygiene & sanitation which practically ought to be adhered in the interest of Consumer Safety.
Meanwhile, Food Business Operators(FBOs) were imparted with awareness under the Act & most of the business dealers appreciated the drive & assured to avoid the negligence.
In an endeavour to combat with the thwart of malpractices Taraq Ahmad Butt Assistant Commissioner Food Safety DFCO District Doda directed the team to continue the drive & mitigate the sufferings of the Consumers & public in General.
