Jammu, Dec 21: A team of experts from Himachal Pradesh on Saturday visited snow clad hills of Bani tehsil in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir to find out feasibility of bir billing like paragliding in the area.
An official here said that the experts comprised of trained para gliders visited Siara belt of Bani to conduct trials of para gliding but due to inclement weather conditions, the trials could not be conducted.
The team on Sunday will visit Aitham in Jammu outskirts to conduct trials.
“Efforts are on to give boost to the tourism sector by promoting and introducing adventure sports,” said an official.
He added that Jammu and Kashmir has rich potential in tourism sector but remained neglected, adding, “many locations have been identified across the Union Territory and in coming months, adventurous activities like para-gliding, bungee jumping, water sports, will attract more tourists to this region.”
