The evacuation of stranded Kailash Mansarovar pilgrims in Nepal is continuing on the fourth day. Over 970 pilgrims have been evacuated from Simikot so far.
Our correspondent reports that 88 pilgrims have been airlifted from Simikot by 5 flights and a chopper this morning. In a massive operation undertaken by the Embassy of India 971 stranded pilgrims have been airlifted from Simikot.
Around 675 people have also been brought to Simikot from Hilsa. Now over 300 people are stranded in Simikot, only one in Hilsa and few others in Tibet side. These pilgrims are also likely to be evacuated by today or tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the Embassy of India has issued an advisory for Kailash Mansarovar Yatra via Nepal. It has said that Simikot and Hilsa are extremely infrastructure lean places lacking basic medical, comfortable boarding and lodging facilities.
The Mission has advised all prospective pilgrims to get themselves medically examined before starting the Yatra and carry sufficient medicine for up to one month.
