Reviews present traffic scenario & implementation of traffic decongestion plan
KULGAM: Ensure availability of vehicles for public in evening hours to avoid inconvenience to people, instructed the Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Dr. Bilal-Mohi-Ud-Din-Bhat to ARTO Kulgam during a meeting of officers held at mini secretariat, here.
The DC convened the meeting to review implementation status of traffic decongestion plan in the town.
During the meeting, the DC reviewed the current traffic scenario in the district and reviewed the measures which have been taken to decongest the traffic.
The chair was informed that both the bus stands at Laroo and Chawlagam are fully functional and parking spaces at Old bus adda and Qazigund Adda near the Clock Tower are being properly utilized for parking of private vehicles.
The DC instructed ARTO and traffic authorities to maintain smooth traffic flow in town by deploying additional staff at main points and junctions.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Showkat Ahmad Rather; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Viqar Ahmed Giri; Dy.SP, ARTO, Tehsildar HQ, officers from traffic, Executive Officer, Municipal Council Kulgam and other members.
