Encounter breaks out in Baramulla, army man injured

SRINAGAR: An Army trooper was injured after a gunfight broke out between militants and security forces in the Sheeri Chandoosa area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday.

A top police officer told that contact was established during a cordon and search operation launched by police and the army in Sultanpur forests.

In the intial exchange of fire one army trooper received a bullet wound in the leg, and has been shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. Till this report was filed, intermittent exchange of firing was going on.
