Jammu: District Commissioner Jammu and District Election Officer Ramesh Kumar today informed about the dates for filing nominations papers for Parliamentary Elections 2019.
“The Model Code of Conduct is in force since the announcement of polls by Election Commission of India (ECI) on March 10th,” DC Jammu said.
J&K has 6 Parliamentary Constituencies and candidates can file nomination for these seats from 18th to 25th March in the office of DC office. No nomination will be accepted on two public holidays, that is on March 21st (Holi) and March 24th (Sunday).
The timing for filing the nomination papers is 11 am to 3 pm. The scrutiny of papers will be done on March 26th in the DC office itself.
The candidates can withdraw their nomination till March 28th, while the polling day is April 11th, from 7 am to 6 pm.
Within 100 meters periphery of the office, only three vehicles and five persons are allowed for the filing of nominations. The media cell is also established where pamphlets and other election-related materials will be printed. Also, in order to take permissions for rallies or other matter, candidates can approach the DC office.
