‘Srinagar, Kupwara yet to achieve feat’
SRINAGAR: In a major development, eight districts in Kashmir have completed 100 per cent vaccination of all the people above 45 years of age while Kupwara and Srinagar districts are yet to achieve the feat.
The eight districts which have completed the 100 percent vaccination include Anantnag, Kulgam, Pulwama, Shopian, Budgam, Baramulla, Bandipora and Ganderbal. In Srinagar, so far 82.96 per cent of the people above 45 have been vaccinated so far while 78.41 per cent of people have been vaccinated so far in Kupwara.
It is pertinent to mention here that the J&K administration has already missed two deadlines in completing the vaccination of people above 45 years of age.
Officials said that the vaccination process is going on in full swing and very soon the population above 45 will be completed.
They said that people were hesitant a bit earlier which is why the vaccination process is taking more time. Notably, the vaccination process has been ramped up in both Kupwara and Srinagar from last few days as thousands of people have been vaccinated in twin districts in last two weeks—(KNO)
