Efforts on to document, preserve folk treasure of songs and tales: LG Sinha

SRINAGAR: The Lieutenant Governor Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha Tuesday said that efforts are being made to document and preserve the folk treasure of songs and tale of the region.

LG Sinha made these remarks while inaugurating Jashn-e-Kashmir, a three-week-long cultural festival, celebrating tradition, culture & heritage at Tagore Hall, Srinagar.

Addressing the gathering, Sinha said, Our unique diversity is our pride, our biggest strength and such festivals will encourage artists, artisans & craftsmen to promote the spirit of Ek Bharat, and Shreshtha Bharat”.

Adding that he said, “We have taken steps to reconnect youth to their roots & provide an environment and a forum to folk artistes, visual artistes and authors to showcase our shared goals and values. Efforts are also being made to document and preserve the folk treasure of songs and tales”.
